Futuristic Things are Already Available

car must haves

Although many of us cannot imagine the futuristic technology that will be available in the future, many of these technologies have already been created and are readily available. Many cars are equipped with advanced technology. These include lane corrections, potential collision detection, automated park, and other helpful functions. Tesla vehicles already exist and have assisted driving features. 55 companies are currently allowed to test autonomous vehicles. These vehicles have the potential to be very widespread, but is it feasible?

Streaming music and films

Streaming videos and music is the future in entertainment. The internet and television conspired to make TV obsolete and create new channels. According to a Moffett Nathanson report, streaming has increased from zero to $3Billion in three years. It used to seem that DVDs were the only way to save the movie industry. But streaming has now become a public service. Let's look at how streaming movies and music are being financed.

Driverless lorries

Driverless lorries don't seem as unlikely as you might think. Although technology is readily available, the technology will need to be modified for different regions. Driverless vehicles need different types of sensors, such as radar and lidar used in airports. These sensors feed into hybrid artificial intelligence systems, which may include modules that engineers have developed. The information the driverless vehicles gather is used to determine how alert the driver is and whether to change their course.

Robotic exoskeletons

Although exoskeletons with robotic arms have received a lot of attention, the public's opinion on them is split. Only 6% believe they have heard of the futuristic machines. 37% claim they are neutral. The majority of those who are skeptical are divided with 52 percent saying that they are unsure. The survey results are interesting, however, because people's opinions on the use of robots are not based on any particular ideology.

Transparent television

You can have a transparent TV. The concept was first presented by LG years ago. However, the technology only made it to stores in the last few months. Xiomi, a Chinese tech giant, released the first transparent TV in commercial production in May 2012. Although it lacks crisp white details, it delivers clear details and a great soundscape. It is a relatively expensive television, at RMB 49.999.

Invisibility

Although many people wish to be invisible in futuristic places, not everyone can afford it. Cloaking technology is now available and it's possible to go invisible. This technology could be used to disguise huge objects such as cellphone towers or even wreckage. This technology is still far away from becoming reality. Only responsible scientists can afford it at the moment.

FAQ

What's the difference between a mechanic and an automotive technician?

They are both similar, but not identical. A mechanic repairs cars and an automotive technician performs maintenance.

A mechanic must be skilled in manual dexterity and able to complete simple tasks quickly. They should also be able correctly diagnose and repair any problems.

An automotive technician needs to be more technically skilled than a mechanic. They must be able to read blueprints and use tools such as drills and wrenches.

They should be able safely to perform complex procedures. They need to be familiar with various types of engines and electrical system.

They must also be able to understand how various parts interact with each other.

As a result, a mechanic usually earns less money than an automotive technician. But there are many opportunities for both jobs.

What length of an automotive course is it?

An automotive course lasts 3 years.

The first year is spent on theory, learning all about cars. The second year is dedicated to practical training, where you will learn how to fix cars, drive them, and do other jobs around the car. You will spend the final year working in a local garage to gain real-world experience.

Is it really worth becoming a mechanic.

The answer to this question depends on what you want from life if you are looking for money, then yes, but if you're looking for meaning and purpose, then no.

If you don’t have any mechanical skills, it’s pointless to get into it. It will just waste your time. It's not going make you millionaire. It won't make you famous. It is unlikely that you will be made famous.

You would need to spend years learning how to do everything properly. It would be expensive to have your car fixed by someone else. This is why most people don’t bother. They find something they enjoy instead.

In conclusion, if money is your main goal, you should go ahead. However, if you want to have a meaningful and fulfilling life, avoid the mechanic's trade.

Do I need to have a degree to work as an automotive mechanic? What about part-time study?

It is not essential, but it is helpful. Employers will prefer candidates who have completed a degree. It shows that your efforts have been put in and you have succeeded.

You can still study while working, however. Some universities permit students to do coursework during summer holidays and complete their studies later in a year. Others let students take classes part-time throughout the year.

Is it possible to work as an automotive mechanic?

Yes, it's possible. Many garages advertise their vacancies online, and many people apply just because they think it might be fun. Try applying to a few jobs and seeing if the garages accept student applications. Alternatively, you could ask friends and family if they know anyone who works in the industry. They might be happy to recommend someone.
